Recent rulings by the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) dictate that Lenders are now accountable for the actions of their “Service Providers.” In response, the ALTA (American Land Title Association) has developed their Best Practices, and ALTA is encouraging all Title Agents to adopt these practices.
Metropolitan Title is implementing ALTA’s Best Practices, and email encryption is just one of the many steps we are taking to protect our customers’ NPPI (Non-public Personal Information). As a valued customer, you will receive email that is encrypted. This requires you to set up and use a login in order to open emails from Metropolitan Title. You might find this to be a great inconvenience at first, but hopefully the peace of mind makes up for it in knowing your information and that of your clients’ is safe and protected. In today’s world of hi-tech piracy, protecting our clients is critically important.
